I have more than 500 dives to my name. I spent every weekend of my life underwater, and even during the week, my dive buddy would get an impish look and say, “What you think about getting up at the ass-crack of dawn, driving to Monterey for a dive, then beating it back to Reno in time for work? You think we could pull it off?” The drive from Reno to Monterey was a solid 4 hour drive. Well, I’m not one to turn down a challenge, so we loaded my Trans Am up with tanks and gear and did such nonsensical things.
The crazy thing is that I never bothered to Put Another Dollar In to get an official certification for all the diving I have done. Now I want to share my passion, love, and knowledge of diving and dive science to help other people become truly comfortable underwater. This now means I need to become a Dive Master.
And I know that the proper terminology is Dive Master Candidate, but I prefer DAMIT (Dive Master in Training) as I am forever bending rules. This is where I will share my journey to become a Dive Master.
